House Hunt

Our house hunt is over!

If all goes well, this precious little house will be ours by the end of October.

I'm a hit with the old ladies

Old Lady #2: (yelling) "Who was that man?"
Old Lady #2's Embarrassed Son: "um. that was your nurse" (to me): "don't worry. she's blind"

....and apparently deaf too.

So, as you can tell, the sweet little old ladies REALLY like me.

The Hunger Games

I know this is kind of old news, and I may be super lame for reading books written for 6th graders, BUT if you haven't read The Hunger Games yet ...DO IT!

It's seriously good. And don't let the blurb freak you out. It's addictive. The End.

And I really need someone to discuss it with. So, sooner rather than later would be good for me, thanks.

I Dreamed A Dream...

little old lady: (pointing to TV while watching Britain's Got Talent) "somebody left your picture on my wall"
me: (turning to see Susan Boyle's face on the TV) "um...thanks?"

Jewlery Box Makeover!

I started out with an old jewelry box my grandmother gave me when I was like 5 for all my fake jewelry. It's super old and I'm pretty sure she found it at a flea market somewhere, but it did the trick for a preschooler! Unfortunately it's not of much use to anyone else...and let's just be real. It's ugly.

I still can't figure out how to put pictures underneath text or in a specific order that I want, so I can explain what I did down here....under all the pictures.

First, I pulled out all the nasty pink material on the inside.
Then I spray painted the whole box with black.
And finally I used scrapbooking paper and Mod Podge to cover it!

I really like the final look, now if only I could figure out this silly blogging thing!!!!

Craftiness

Now that Ryan's back in school everyday, I'm alone all day 4 days out of the week with nothing to do. Needless to say I'm in desperate need of a hobby. My problem is follow-through.

Here are some hobby ideas that I've tried ad dropped in the last month:
1. cleaning-FAIL
2. cooking-FAIL
3. reading-bored with it (for now). I'm actually just a little depressed after finishing
the Hunger Games series.
4. outdoor activities-major FAIL. It is so blazing hot right now!

So, most recently I've really gotten into crafts...as in the idea of being crafty. As in, I haven't actually done anything crafty yet. As in, I really just look around on the internet for crafty ideas, and never get to the actually DOING part.

BUT I think I've finally found a project that I can start with!

My plan is to mod podge a jewelry box that I got from my grandmother. Sounds easy, right??
We'll see....

(I will put pictures up when I figure out how to get them where I want them)
